Day 2: Addis Ababa
Explore the National Museum, St. George and Holy Trinity Cathedrals, and the Mercato market.
Day 3: Addis Ababa – Bahir Dar
Travel by flight or public transport to Bahir Dar. Afternoon hike to Tis Isat Falls (Blue Nile Falls).
Day 4: Bahir Dar
Lake Tana cruise to remote island monasteries like Ura Kidane Mehret and Narga Selassie.
Day 5: Bahir Dar – Gondar
Drive to Gondar and enjoy a relaxing afternoon in this historic mountain city.
Day 6: Gondar
Explore Gondar’s castles and the Church of Debre Berhan Selassie with its iconic painted ceiling.
Day 7: Gondar – Sankaber
Drive to Debark and enjoy your first easy hike in the Simien Mountains. Spot gelada baboons along the way.
Day 8: Sankaber – Gich
Hike through Kaba Valley and Jinbar River, witnessing spectacular waterfalls and birdlife.
Day 9: Gich
Explore Imet-Gogo and Seha viewpoints, enjoying giant lobelia fields and sunset at Kedadit.
Day 10: Gich – Chennek
Climb to 4070m for lunch, then descend to Chennek. Watch for Walia Ibex at camp.
Day 11: Chennek – Buwahit – Debark
Climb Buwahit (4430m) and spot Walia Ibex. Return to Debark for pickup.
Day 12: Debark – Axum
Travel by bus and mini-van to Axum, the ancient city of the Queen of Sheba.
Day 13: Axum
Visit Stelae Fields, St. Mary of Zion Cathedral, and the local museum.
Day 14: Axum – Gerehalta/Hawzen
Visit Yeha, Debre Damo, and rock-hewn churches Abune-Yemata & Mariam Korkos.
Day 15: Gerehalta – Mekele
Drive to Mekele with stops at remote villages and historical churches.
Day 16: Mekele – Lalibela
Long scenic drive to Lalibela, witnessing village dances and landscapes.
Day 17: Lalibela
Explore monolithic churches, Nakutelab, and enjoy an Ethiopian coffee ceremony.
Day 18: Lalibela – Addis Ababa
Flight back to Addis Ababa and end of the Northern Ethiopia tour.

📝 SMT Tour – Cancellation Policy
🙋♂️ Cancellation by You (the Traveler)
- 📅 More than 30 days before the tour: Full refund minus a 10% administrative fee.
- 📅 15–30 days before the tour: 50% refund of the total booking amount.
- 📅 Less than 15 days before the tour: No refund.
🏛️ Cancellation by SMT Tour
In rare cases, if SMT Tour must cancel a tour, you will receive a full refund. Whenever possible, we will also offer alternative dates or similar tour options.
🔄 Changes to Your Booking
Changes such as dates or number of travelers are subject to availability and may incur additional charges. Please contact us as early as possible to make adjustments.
🌪️ Force Majeure
SMT Tour is not responsible for cancellations due to events beyond our control, including natural disasters, political unrest, or pandemics. We will assist with rescheduling or providing credit for future tours.
💳 Refund Process
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–14 business days after cancellation confirmation.
