A Journey Through the Simien Mountains

The Trek
Follow ancient trails through the Simien Mountains, connecting villages and highland pastures. Experience stunning vistas, unique flora, diverse wildlife, and abundant birdlife. Ideal for nature lovers, photographers, and adventure seekers.
Day 1: Sankaber (3,250 m) | 4–5 Hours
- Drive from Gondar to Debark (100 km, ~2 hours).
- Arrange park permits and meet your scout at the headquarters.
- Drive another hour to reach the trailhead.
- Easy introductory walk along the northern escarpment with panoramic views.
- Spot gelada baboons along the way.
- Overnight camping at Sankaber.
Day 2: Jinbahir – Sankaber – Gondar | 3–4 Hours
- Follow the northern escarpment eastward, then descend into the Kaba Valley.
- Ascend to Gich Abyss and cross a narrow ridge to cliffs with spectacular views.
- Marvel at the Jinbahir Waterfall, plunging 500 m into the valley below.
- Return to Sankaber via the Wazla River Valley, passing traditional villages.
- Drive back to Gondar, with optional hiking stops.

🙋♂️ Cancellation by You (the Traveler)
- 📅 More than 30 days before the tour: Full refund minus a 10% administrative fee.
- 📅 15–30 days before the tour: 50% refund of the total booking amount.
- 📅 Less than 15 days before the tour: No refund.
🏛️ Cancellation by SMT Tour
In rare cases, if SMT Tour must cancel a tour, you will receive a full refund. Whenever possible, we will also offer alternative dates or similar tour options.

Changes such as dates or number of travelers are subject to availability and may incur additional charges. Please contact us as early as possible to make adjustments.
🌪️ Force Majeure
SMT Tour is not responsible for cancellations due to events beyond our control, including natural disasters, political unrest, or pandemics. We will assist with rescheduling or providing credit for future tours.
💳 Refund Process
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–14 business days after cancellation confirmation.
