4-Day Awash National Park Safari Tour
Depart early morning from Addis Ababa, driving east through the Great Rift Valley (approx. 4–5 hours). Stop for coffee in Debre Zeit and continue toward Awash. Afternoon game drive in Awash National Park, spotting Beisa Oryx, Soemmerring’s gazelle, warthogs, ostriches, and olive baboons. Evening view of the Awash River Falls, one of Ethiopia’s most scenic waterfalls.
Overnight: Awash Falls Lodge (inside the park).
Morning game drive through the Illala Sala Plains where you may encounter greater and lesser kudus, dik-dik, and hartbeest. After lunch, visit the Doho Lodge & Hot Springs for a relaxing soak in the natural warm pools surrounded by palm trees and birdlife. Enjoy a serene sunset over the park plains.
Overnight: Doho Lodge or Awash Falls Lodge.
Early morning hike to the Fantalle Volcano Crater (if physically fit) for panoramic views of the park and surrounding Rift Valley. Alternatively, enjoy a bird-watching tour around the Awash River Gorge—home to over 400 bird species, including hornbills, bustards, starlings, and bee-eaters. Visit nearby Afar villages to experience their semi-nomadic lifestyle.
Overnight: Awash Falls Lodge.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Beseka near Metehara for birdwatching—flamingos, pelicans, and other aquatic species are common. Continue to Addis Ababa, stopping for scenic views along the way. Arrive in the late afternoon.
End of tour.

📝 SMT Tour – Cancellation Policy
🙋♂️ Cancellation by You (the Traveler)
- 📅 More than 30 days before the tour: Full refund minus a 10% administrative fee.
- 📅 15–30 days before the tour: 50% refund of the total booking amount.
- 📅 Less than 15 days before the tour: No refund.
🏛️ Cancellation by SMT Tour
In rare cases, if SMT Tour must cancel a tour, you will receive a full refund. Whenever possible, we will also offer alternative dates or similar tour options.
🔄 Changes to Your Booking
Changes such as dates or number of travelers are subject to availability and may incur additional charges. Please contact us as early as possible to make adjustments.
🌪️ Force Majeure
SMT Tour is not responsible for cancellations due to events beyond our control, including natural disasters, political unrest, or pandemics. We will assist with rescheduling or providing credit for future tours.
💳 Refund Process
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–14 business days after cancellation confirmation.
